To finish up the school year, Tallmadge was able to coordinate the walking portion of their Healthwalk(the fundraiser to raise money to pave the school's walking path) along with their annual Field Day. It was a fun and active day for all--students and teachers alike. I had a great time as a volunteer monitor for the Healthwalk as they made their way around Cenci Lake--making sure no one fell in the lake or strayed from the trail--even with the fascination of a family of mom and baby ducks, a large turtle, and a frog. It was a real wildlife wonderland. Then it was off to the school for the afternoon of Field Day. Mr. Shupp, the Physical Education teacher, had a variety of stations for the students to make their way through--and they had a great time doing it. I was in charge of the obstacle course and had a great time working with the students as they split their class into two teams and worked with their team to try to complete the course first. It was a gorgeous hot day and the kids got to make their way to the wet station to cool off--which I was ready for by the end--but I missed out! I ended up fried--but it was well worth it!
