I received some very sad news yesterday. Susie McMackin Crook passed away Friday evening, ending her battle with cancer. We met Susie when she became our kid's first preschool teacher at Lancaster Montessori. Although the Montessori experience did not work out too well for my kids--who just need more structure--Susie left a lasting impression on them. After the school year, we had the pleasure of photographing Susie's wedding to the love of her life, Andy Crook. Even though Andy had to check out of the hospital to be able to attend his own wedding, nothing dampened the love between the two of them. I got to witness firsthand the number of lives that Susie touched throughout her life. I couldn't believe how many of her past students were in attendance--a true tribute! Ironically, she passed away on the eve of what was to have been a final tribute--and fundraiser for the school--which had to be cancelled due to the snowstorm. If you are interested in updates when it is rescheduled, you may visit the site http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/susiecrook

Susie also touched our lives through Lancaster Montessori. The first time we met her, we knew that she was exactly what we needed! I still have the rose that our son presented during "graduation", 14 years ago...
Her legacy will live on through the students she inspired.
